Given the ongoing debate regarding the treatment of asylum seekers under the Federal Government’s proposed legislation, particularly in the way that it relates to unaccompanied children, the Council of Churches of Christ in Australia (CCCA), has released a statement on this issue calling for greater compassion towards the unaccompanied children who arrive on our shores, many of whom are already fleeing war, persecution and other trauma.
